Searching for 2024-25 Student Representative for Suffolk Education Foundation Board of Directors

The Suffolk Education Foundation is seeking a student member to be the voice of their peers on our board.  Our primary purpose is to serve the STUDENTS, faculty, and staff of Suffolk Public Schools.  

A candidate for the board will need to be a rising junior or senior in one of the public high schools.  They must not have any disciplinary actions in the current school year and have a 3.0 or higher GPA.  They also must be of good character that can be attested to by a member of the community and a member of the school.

The appointment will be for one year beginning in July, and can be renewed for one year.  The candidate must desire to speak on behalf of their peers and provide insight on how the Education Foundation can better serve our student constituents.

A short list of candidates will be contacted for an interview via Zoom.  Applications are due no later than
Friday, May 10, 2024.

The applicant must
- Have a 3.0 or greater GPA
- Not had any disciplinary actions in the current school year
- Have the support and permission of the parent or custodian
- Receive a recommendation from a faculty or staff member
- Receive a recommendation from a community member
