Dual-Enrollment Tuition Assistance 2021-22 Application

The award is a grant and not a loan. Notification of awards will be made by August 1. The award will be paid directly to the students' high school at the beginning of each semester.
 

Each student selected will be considered for tuition assistance for up to three (3) dual-enrollment classes taken at the high school during the 2021-2022 school year.
 

The student selected for funding for the first semester will automatically be eligible for like funding for the second semester as long as he or she maintains a minimum of a “C” average in the funded dual credit class(es). If the student has an average of less than “C” they will NOT receive funding for the second semester. Evidence of successful standing ( "C" or better) in the funded class must be provided to your high school’s guidance department at the end of 1st Semester in order to receive 2nd semester assistance.

Your completed application will entitle you to compete for this scholarship and the Tuition Assistance for which you may be eligible. Please verify that you meet all criteria prior to submitting the application.

* is a rising junior or senior
* has demonstrated excellence in academic studies
* will be taking at least one dual-enrollment course during the 2021-22 school year
* demonstrates financial need

Dual-Enrollment Tuition Assistance 2021-22 Application for Louis & Mary Haddad Foundation

One of the objectives of the Suffolk Education Foundation (SEF) is to provide tuition assistance to students taking dual-enrollment (DE) classes. Your completed application for the Louis and Mary Haddad Foundation Scholarship will allow you to be considered for this scholarship and the amount of Tuition Assistance for which you may be eligible. Please verify that you meet all criteria prior to submitting the application.
 

Eligibility – The applicant shall be a public high school student in City of Suffolk who:
* is a rising junior or senior
* has demonstrated excellence in academic studies
* will be taking Math and/or Science Dual-Enrollment (DE) classes in 2021-2022
* plans post-secondary study in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Health (STEM-H)
* demonstrates financial need

 

The award is a scholarship in the amount of up to $1,500 per academic year. The Haddad Foundation Scholarship will pay tuition and may pay for textbooks, equipment, or lab fees associated with the Dual Enrollment classes taken during the 2021-2022 school year and/or the 2021 or 2022 Summer Session, up to the full amount of the Scholarship over time.

Notification of the award will be made by August 1. The award will be paid directly to the appropriate academic institution for the courses. SEF will reimburse the student or guardians for textbooks, lab kits, online subscriptions, etc. upon submission of receipts to the Suffolk Education Foundation.  Again, enrollment and reimbursements cannot exceed the full amount of the scholarship within one school year.
