SEF Seeking Student Voice on Board of Directions

The Suffolk Education Foundation would like to welcome a new voice to our board for the 2021-22 school year.  We are seeking a student member to be the voice of their peers on our board.  Our primary purpose is to serve the STUDENTS, faculty, and staff of Suffolk Public Schools.  We have former teachers and representation from the Superintendent’s office, and now the board feels it is important to have the students represented.

A candidate for the board will need to be a rising junior or senior in one of the city's public high schools.  They must not have any disciplinary actions in the current school year and have a 3.0 or higher GPA.  They also must be of good character that can be attested to by a member of the community and a member of the school.

The appointment will be for one year beginning in July, and can be renewed for one year.

The candidate must desire to speak on behalf of their peers and provide insight on how the Education Foundation can better serve our student constituents.

Applications are due no later than Wednesday, May 26.

A short list of candidates will be contacted for an interview via Zoom.
